Has your once-easy puppy suddenly stopped listening? Are walks becoming frustrating? Has your dog become more distracted, excitable or difficult to live with? Perhaps their recall has disappeared, they’re pulling on the lead, or settling quietly now feels impossible. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Adolescence is one of the biggest developmental stages your dog will go through. As they mature, it’s completely normal for training to feel as though it’s unravelling. The good news is that, with the right guidance, you can navigate this stage and come out the other side with an even stronger relationship.
Every dog is an individual, which is why support is tailored to your goals and your dog’s needs. Together we’ll work on the everyday skills that make life easier and more enjoyable, including:
- Reliable recall
- Loose lead walking
- Calm behaviour around distractions
- Focus and engagement
- Settling in different environments
- Confidence and emotional resilience
My aim isn’t simply to teach your dog new skills. It’s to help you build the foundations for a dog you can enjoy living life with.
How it works
We’ll begin with a complimentary history and planning call to discuss what’s happening, your goals, and whether Teenage Dog Support is the right fit for your dog.
From there, we’ll work together through a structured programme of three one-to-one sessions, giving you the time, coaching and ongoing guidance needed to make meaningful progress.
‘Kim is an inspiring, enthusiastic and understanding trainer. We highly recommend her. She has guided us safely down a path to understanding how to help out Flat Coat achieve his happier and calmer, more confident self. We have thoroughly enjoyed the whole process with Kim’s uplifting motivation and support.‘

Teenage Dog Support Package
- Complimentary history and planning call
- Three 60-minute one-to-one training sessions
- Email support throughout your programme
£240
If, during our initial conversation, it becomes clear that your dog’s challenges are rooted in fear, anxiety or another more complex behavioural issue, I’ll recommend my Behaviour Support Package instead. This allows for a more detailed assessment and a tailored behaviour modification plan to give you and your dog the best possible support.
Ongoing support
Most owners find the three-session programme gives them the skills and confidence to continue progressing independently. However, every dog is different, and some benefit from a little extra support as they move through adolescence.
Progress coaching session
1-hour one-to-one session: £95
These sessions can be booked whenever you need them, whether you’d like to build on your dog’s progress, tackle a new training goal or simply have ongoing guidance as your dog matures.
Travel
For clients outside my local area, a travel charge applies to cover travel time and costs. This is charged at a flat rate per visit and will always be confirmed in advance.
