About

I’m Kim, the trainer behind Leaps & Bounds Dog Training. With a background as a qualified veterinary nurse and a certified canine behaviour practitioner, I’ve worked with dogs in both clinical and training settings for many years. This experience means I not only understand how dogs think and learn, but also the health and wellbeing factors that can influence their behaviour.

My approach is always kind, effective, and reward-based. I believe training should be enjoyable for both you and your dog — a chance to build trust, confidence, and connection. Whether you’re raising a new puppy, navigating the challenges of adolescence, or working through more complex behaviour issues, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me exploring the wilds of Northumberland with my German Shorthaired Pointers, Hitch and Ripley, or having fun with Dog Parkour (I’m also a Certified Dog Parkour Instructor and Title Evaluator). Dogs are my life, and I’m passionate about helping others enjoy that same bond with their own companions.

Kim gave us reassurance that improvement was possible and provided clear exercises with detailed notes so we could work through them. Kim’s warm and empathetic personality meant we felt supported throughout our journey.

I thank you Kim, for your invaluable help today. I used the technique from this afternoon. It worked very effectively. Thank you once again.

Kim offers a fresh and amazingly effective approach. By learning about and focusing on what naturally motivates your dog, she encourages you to work with them to build trust. We are so grateful to Kim for her insight.

I believe the best support comes from combining experience with ongoing professional development. That’s why I regularly attend courses, seminars, and specialist training to keep my knowledge up to date — so you and your dog benefit from the latest, most effective methods.
